Student Absence Procedure

Funding is paid to students progressing on their course who have met the  attendance criteria for each four week attendance period.  Depending on the length of the course, students can be absent for a total of 48 hours and 4 weeks certified by medical certificates in any academic year without their funding being affected. Students on a full-time short course may be absent  up to 24 hours and 2 weeks certified by medical  certificates.

If the student disputes the absences he/she should discuss these with their tutor and if there are extenuating circumstances, the tutor will notify the Student Awards Officer with a recommendation as to whether the student should be paid.
