A Modern Apprenticeship provides you with vocational training relevant to your employment, so you can earn while you learn and gain a recognised qualification while in work.
Open to anyone living in Scotland aged 16-24, in employment and who wishes to work towards industry recognised accreditation, Modern Apprenticeships offer individuals the opportunity to train as a craftsperson or for a technical or managerial role.
The North Highland College UHI works closely with Skills Development Scotland and a variety of sector skills councils to offers a range of modern apprenticeships in the following disciplines:
- Carpentry and Joinery
- Electrical Installation
- Social Services
- Youth Work
Employing an apprentice is the ideal way to ensure you can build and develop your company’s workforce. With skills shortages in so many key areas it ensures you are developing both the academic and vocational skills required for the future. We will work with you to ensure the programme your apprentice follows suits your business needs.
You have the opportunity either as a new or existing employee to train both in the workplace and at college to ensure you can develop your skills and knowledge to follow your chosen career.
